After a night earthquake in Mexico City, the phone lines go down forcing different people to use a public phone.
Public Telephone is a cinematic exploration of human vulnerability in one of the most intimate yet exposed moments—speaking on the phone in public. Through long takes and emotionally driven sound design, I wanted to place the viewer in a voyeuristic position, quietly witnessing the private unraveling of lives through disembodied voices. As the stories slowly interlace, what begins as fragmented episodes evolves into a collective emotional crescendo. This film invites the audience to listen—deeply—and to imagine the unseen.
